Hotel Vancouver, Friday, 7 July 1916
This is the second Hotel Vancouver the year it opened. It was demolished in the 1940s after the returned veterans who were squatting it were moved into the Dunsmuir Hotel, which was taken over by the Sally Ann & converted into a men’s hostel. The third (current) Hotel Vancouver opened in 1939, but this one was the best of the bunch. Get a load of them Western Canada gargoyles.
